File that under "Sweet Deal"

It was a sad day for me when I found out that Sarah Haskins was leaving InfoMania; I got a bottle of wine, a throw blanket, had a good cry, you know, like any normal human being. Sarah’s funny, smart, someone I’d sleep with, and once, I saw her on The Rachel Maddow show, so I couldn’t fault her in the least.

Then, a while after my bottle of wine was gone and I’d just gotten the smell of Merlot and crushed dreams out of my throw blanket, Erin Gibson came around with Modern Lady. I was shocked, kind of appalled, and probably on the verge of becoming a semi-functional alcoholic at the time, so I wasn’t really up on what was going on with her Infomania segment. Today, however, she lured me in the same way most women do, with the promise of something to do with vagina, and I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed.

I’m sorry, I didn’t warn you about the multiple uncomfortable commercials, did I? Well, hopefully it wasn’t too unbearable. And hey, think on the bright side, watching a clip selling vinegar & water douching products is, and I’m going to assume here, far more comfortable than actually using one. Yikes.

I was checking my Twitter feed earlier today when I came across an article which told me that women don’t always sleep with other women in college! It was heart breaking, to say the least. I mean, that’s the only reason I went to college – the possibility of lesbians have sex was worth the tuition alone.

But to find out that not so many people are having lesbian sex? After paying tens of thousands of dollars (literally)? I’m hurt.

I like this version better – nevermind my love for accents, Kate Nash, and vaguely-lesbian covers, because I’m totally unbiased.

But I digress, the other day I was playing Trivial Pursuit: Genius Edition, a version that came out in the 1960s, and I was asked what a boy conceived between two cannons on a warship was. My answer was something along the lines of “unlikely to see his first birthday.” Evidently, the answer was “Son of a Gun” – see, you’ve just learned something new.

And, if you haven’t already, you should catch up on the indie blog’s most recent darling, Oh Land.

Oh, I didn’t mention the lead singer’s a total fox? How silly of me, giving you trivia before pictures of cute women. Tsk. I know you scrolled down first anyway.

And I’ll leave you with the video for “Son of a Gun,” which, seemingly, was shot primarily on a mirror in Charlie Sheen’s bedroom. I’m not judging.

But, I digress.

While I was browsing, my good friends (by “good friends” I mean people who I follow on Twitter) Tegan & Sara have alerted me (by “me” I mean everyone on Twitter) to Sara’s involvement in a new song by Theophilus London; Why Even Try. While the title is a bit of a downer, I remain optimistic that this song will be big.
